PRESS RELEASE

HR GO plc has secured its eighth mergers and acquisitions deal in 12 months by completing a joint venture with Mai Day Recruitment Services. The well-established recruiter with offices in Watford and Huntingdon is the latest addition to the HR GO Group.

The ambitious recruitment and business services group continues to expand rapidly through joint venture partnerships, acquisitions and organic growth.

Mai Day has established an enviable reputation with clients and candidates for nearly 30 years. It operates in a wide range of sectors, principally automotive and marketing/events, alongside commercial, finance and secretarial. Mai Day serves key brands nationally and in London’s West End and City.

Experienced recruiter Elizabeth (Liz) Braiden set up the business with Jacky Lloyd in 1991. They and fellow director James Braiden retain a significant minority stake in the JV. The business employs twelve staff in total.

Cindy Hare, managing director HR GO Recruitment, welcomed the Mai Day teams to the Group. She said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for both of us to expand our services into new areas. Mai Day has achieved considerable success with clients and candidates and we look forward to continuing that success under the HR GO Recruitment brand.” She added that all directors and employees would be retained and offered the opportunity to work within the HR GO Group.

Liz said: “We’re very excited about joining the HR GO Group. We want to expand and they will help us do it. We have a family culture and teaming up with a company with strong ethical values was important to us. We felt it would be a good marriage and that’s exactly what it promises to be.”

HR GO has invested £1.5m in new technology in the past years, setting up a trailblazing client portal and candidate area. Liz said HR GO’s advanced digital systems were an important factor in the decision to sign up. “We love the idea of clients having a portal so they can see their spend, how many temps they are using and so on.”

Roddy Barrow, HR GO Group Managing Director, added: “We are delighted to welcome Mai Day Recruitment to the HR GO family. They have a great record serving clients and candidates in Watford, Huntingdon and beyond, including large national automotive clients. This joint venture expands our coverage and enables us to provide a wider range of services with excellent customer care to existing clients and candidates.”

Jack Parkinson, HR GO plc Executive Chairman, said: “We are committed to seeking new opportunities like the one we have just agreed with Mai Day Recruitment. We have much to offer and I am always interested in hearing from other recruiters that would like to find out more.”
